The traverse of the Northern Alps of Honshu from Murodo to Kamikochi is arguably the best ski mountaineering journey I have done.  In 2008 we were the first group of foreigners to make this ski traverse, becoming the second group on our return in 2009.

This is a challenging tour for experienced ski mountaineers with a taste for adventure and comfortable with the challenges of hut-to-hut touring and steep terrain.  Summits include Yarigatake 3180m and Japan’s third highest mountain 3190m Okuhotaka.  We aim to finish with a ski descent of 3776m Fuji-san.
